HOME

a domestic spectacle

zu hause is a self-organized festival by the students from the master in performing arts at the danish national school of performing arts.

what does ‘home’ mean?

home is a safe space for rest. and home is a battle ground. thinking about home is central to understanding our times.

we will imagine the theatre space as a temporary home where we will function as hosts while the audience assumes the role of guests.

as we are an international group this opens questions regarding family, care, migration, norms, culture, privilege, and history.
through formats spanning from smaller performances to rituals, participatory actions, and discursive practices we will look at the poetics of domestic activities as well as the politics of homelessness, borders, and new family structures.

welcome to our domestic spectacle. welcome home.
