NIM COMPANY INTERNSHIP

getting to know choreographer, dancer, performer and founder of nïm company - naïma mazic was an educational experience. while doing my internship, i was able to realize how many values we share such as creative space and inclusive in the system of circulating short-term projects. the artist's research influenced and shaped current interests related to maintaining a dialogue between movement and sound. it was extremely helpful on the path of learning about naïma's creative work to support an artistic and educational project with the youth dance company opening the jazzoffensive festival in november 2024.

it was also thanks to this cooperation that i had the opportunity to get to know the free form festival organization during the chilli jazz 2024 congress. it is a network inside of which both of us with our dance background and experience could share moments of deepening research as practice.

 

concept:

free form means direct communication, intensive mutual attentiveness and acceptance, it is based on openness and the readiness of the artists to meet halfway, to exchange views within the process and even change it; the permanent attempt to enter into a dialogue in a constructive and creative way, to communicate.

a communication between single persons who are conscious of themselves and the others, the running process. this creative making of music implies comprehensive self-reflexion and happens in the framework of a collective-hierarchical discourse.

each “act” of the artists of the free form” is a concert, a manifestation of their creativity, their artistic existence, their art, their comprehensive musical/dancing knowledge, and also their lifestyle; their philosophy of life.
