WHALE ON THE STAGE

i first joined the project as a research partner in order to support the artist in the next stage in the process of preparing the workshops in terms of accessibility. after a series of workshops we were able to continue working on the production part in the role of dramaturgical consultation. the whole project was constructed by neža kokajl after the name "non-normative positivities".
 
non-normative positives is an artistic project that deals with the topics of disability and (un)productivity, and their placement within the neoliberal context. the work assumes two mutually fulfilling processes: one of creating a dance performance; and the other of developing a transferable artistic practice for bodily emancipation, offered to communities who lack such opportunities due to accessibility issues. an aim for both is to foster a radically calming environment.
